April 2008 Photos

We had a GREAT time visiting our kids and grandkids in California! This is absolutely the hardest part about exploring the world and living our sailing dream. We miss them so much! We spent most of our time with family during our short 2 week visit. Keni is expecting our 5th grandchild (a boy!) in June. Lee (Lance's dad) and Linda joined us for a BBQ at Kimberly's where we celebrated several birthdays. We also got to enjoy an evening with our ATF friends Rick & Sandy and Sal & Bertha. Bertha's expecting again -- this time it's a boy!

Mike and Ray Torres took a long weekend to drive to Las Vegas to support the Pasadena Police Department Running Team in the Baker-2-Vegas 120-mile Relay Race. Hundreds of law enforcement agencies from across the Nation and beyond send teams to run in the Challenge Cup Relay. Mike was the Captain of the ATF Running Team for several years during his career. Sean is the co-Captain of the Pasadena PD team and Mike and Ray really enjoyed being part of the support team. A part of the PPD team is pictured below at the Awards Ceremony. The total team consists of 20 runners, 5 alternate runners, and about 15 support members.

Our days were filled spending time with our wonderful grandkids. We tried to stock-up on hugs and kisses because we won't see them again until we fly home for Christmas from Spain.

I know, I know ... I'm a typical grandparent who thinks everyone wants to see pictures of MY grandkids. I can't help it.

We got to see Darlene and Mark while we were in Ft. Lauderdale. In previous albums, you will see them in Ensenada, Mexico and in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with us. They promise to visit us in Europe.
We finally got to meet Richard and Diane as they moved aboard their new Hylas 46 s/v Ava Ryan. We have been exchanging emails with them for awhile now and it was fun to meet them for real! They will be cruising the East Coast this season.
